Born in Jerusalem in 1941; received a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Munich University, Germany, in 1969; served as Chairman of the Scientific Dept. of Fateh and the PLO; was appointed PA Deputy Minister of Industry in 1994, serving in that post until 1999; also acted as supervisor in the PLO’s Scientific Research Dept. from 1995; Deputy Undersecretary of the Fateh Revolutionary Council since 1999; member of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils and of the Arab Federation for Technical Education, both based in Baghdad; member of the General Union of Palestinian Engineers (also serving as its Director for PR); member of the Exec. Office of the Arab Engineers’ Union (and its previous Chairman); member of the International Engineers’ Union; serves on the Board of Trustees of An-Najah University and the Advisory Board of Al-Quds Open University; was named to the Fateh delegation to the 2003 dialogue between the Palestinian factions in Cairo and has subsequently participated in intra-Palestinian meetings.
